Class duration: 40 minutes

Steps Activity Times
1 The teacher enters the classroom and says “good morning” to students. The
teacher encourages students to say “good morning” in return.
5 Miniutes
2 The teacher then gathers all students in front of the classroom and takes the
soft ball. The teacher then tells students that they are going to get introduced
to each other. To get introduced, the teacher will throw the soft ball at any
one student randomly, and whoever the teacher throws the ball at will say his
or her name. The teacher then says, “my name is …” and throws the ball at
one student. The teacher encourages the student to say his or her name.
Once the student succeeds, the teacher tells all the students to introduce
themselves one by one in a similar fashion.Once the introduction part is
done, the teacher tells all the students to go back to their seats.
15 Miniutes
3 Next the teacher tells the students that they are going to sing a song
together. The teacher first sings the “Good Morning” song. Then the teacher
encourages everyone to sing along. The teacher makes the students sing
the song twice.

4 The teacher tells the students to practice introducing themselves at home, as
they will be asked to do so in the next class. The teacher then ends the class
by saying “good bye”.

Class duration: 40 minutes

Steps Activity Times
1 The teacher enters the classroom and says “good morning” to students. The
teacher encourages students to say “good morning” in return.
5 Miniutes
2 The teacher then gives students a handout which contains alphabets A to E
and each alphabet has a word that starts with it. There is space for students
to draw the thing that the word describes. The teacher makes pairs of
students and tells students to work in pairs and draw the letters over the
dotted lines also to draw what the word says. For example, in case of letter
A, students are supposed to draw A over the dotted lines and also draw an
apple as apple is written in the handout with letter A. The teacher moves
from pair to pair and monitors. The teacher will facilitate wherever needed.
20 Miniutes
3 Next the teacher tells the students to stand up and recite what they have in
the handouts. Everyone stands up and recites together. The teacher recites
with them and corrects wherever necessary.
10 Miniutes
4 The teacher tells the students to practice their alphabets and words at home,
as they will be asked to repeat them in the next class. The teacher then ends
the class by saying “good bye”
